Woman allegedly stabbed in bakery of Melbourne store

A woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing another woman she knew at Costco in Melbourne’s north around lunchtime.

“It is understood two females became involved in a dispute at a store on Deveny Rd about 1.15pm,” Victoria Police said on Thursday.

“A woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, sustained non-life threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.”

The other woman was arrested at the wholesale store and is assisting police with inquiries.

“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing, however parties are believed to be known to each other at this stage,” police said.

A man named Tom called 3AW to describe the incident.

“I heard a scream and there was a lady that got stabbed by another person,” he said.

“(It) looked like another person working in the same department, in the bakery section.”
