Dalvin Cook injury update: Vikings RB exits with shoulder injury vs. Seahawks

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook went to the locker room with a right shoulder injury midway through the third quarter Monday night against the Seahawks.

Cook was questionable to return, the Vikings said. Though he quickly came back to the sideline, he did enter Minnesota’s next drive.

The injury appeared to happen when Cook tried to recover his own fumble, but his arm was pinned behind him by a defender. The fumble gave Seattle a key possession in the second half of a close game. Minnesota wide receiver Stefon Diggs was also hurt on the play, but he quickly recovered and was on Minnesota’s next drive.

Cook was battling a chest injury earlier in the week and was listed as limited for Thursday’s practice. He wasn’t on the team’s Friday injury report, though, and began Monday’s game without issue.

Without Cook, the Vikings will rely on backup Alexander Mattison, a rookie with 394 yards on 82 carries entering Monday.
