Even Tyler, The Creator agrees — big sneakers aren’t going anywhere.

Although large, chunky sneakers have been kicking around in street style looks for a few seasons now, Tyler, The Creator’s latest Converse launch today means they’re officially here for a little while longer. The rapper/fashion designer created his own take on the style via an oversized silhouette named “Gianno.” The shoe is an original design for Converse (as part of his ongoing GOLF le FLEUR collaboration), and in addition to looking cool, it is also built for outdoor adventures. The Gianno is available in three colour combinations: an earthy neutral, a rusty orange-and-purple combo and a soft sea foam hue.

The release of the new collection has rekindled our interest in the ugly-but-cool style for winter. A street style staple, the silhouette can be worn with jeans, tailored trousers, dresses and more, instantly giving it MVP status in you wardrobe. Plus, there’s no need to worry about slipping in the snow – heavy lug soles provide a level of practicality rarely seen in on-trend footwear. Here, we’ve rounded up six of our favourite looks from the streets to get you inspired, as well as some of our favourite styles on the market right now.
