Police divers have recovered the body of a teenager who failed to resurface while swimming at a popular location in Sydney.
The 16-year-old disappeared during a swim at the Lake Parramatta reservoir on Monday afternoon. The lake is close to the centre of Sydney’s busy Parramatta district, in the city’s west.
About 2.10pm, police attended the watering hole following reports of the teen’s disappearance.
Police on Monday evening confirmed divers had found the body.
A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
The lake was reopened to public swimming five years ago and has lifeguards on duty during summer school holidays.
